They’ve brought back my Pingbacks to me! My Pingbacks are working now!

The WordPress Happiness Engineers have now got my pingbacks working again!

Thank you.

You can now change the last line of the song below to:

“They’ve brought back my Pingbacks to me”

You can all now share your posts again on my site by including this line anywhere in your post:

Bring back my Pingbacks

My Pingbacks lie over the ocean
My Pingbacks lie over the sea
My Pingbacks lie over the ocean
Oh, bring back my Pingbacks to me…

Bring back, bring back
Oh, bring back my Pingbacks to me, to me
Bring back, bring back
Oh, bring back my Pingbacks to me

O blow ye winds over the ocean
O blow ye winds over the sea
O blow ye winds over the ocean
and bring back my Pingbacks to me

Bring back, bring back
Oh, bring back my Pingbacks to me, to me
Bring back, bring back
Oh, bring back my Pingbacks to me

Last night as I lay on my pillow
Last night as I lay on my bed
Last night as I lay on my pillow
I dreamt that my Pingbacks weren’t dead

Bring back, bring back
Oh, bring back my Pingbacks to me, to me
Bring back, bring back
Oh, bring back my Pingbacks to me

The winds have blown over the ocean
The winds have blown over the sea
The winds have blown over the ocean
And brought back my Pingbacks to me

Bring back, bring back
Oh, bring back my Pingbacks to me, to me
Bring back, bring back
Oh, bring back my Pingbacks to me

Fantail II

Now rest in peace Jim, we are all right
How blessed God’s best whim to fail your fight
You are with Him, always in sight
Memories dim, our thoughts stay bright
Whene’er we see fantails aflight
Brown grey feathers fantailed with white
Twittering towards sunshine’s bright light
Flittering forwards fearing the night.

OH CLASSIC EDITOR MY LOVE

Oh Classic Editor
How I love you
With your clear firm lines
And your soft open spaces
Oh how easy it is to slide into you
Oh what joy we can have there
Creating and recreating joy and bliss
Winding ourselves up into ecstasy
Oh how beautiful you are
My long lost lover
Oh how I craved to be in your arms again
Oh how I craved to the freedom you gave
I yearned for you
I longed for you
And your gentleness
Oh how you invited me in
Where together we could create beautiful things
Oh my love we are back together again
Oh my love never leave me again
Never leave me abandoned again
I love you so much
I am eternally yours
Stay with me for ever
And never let me go

Gutenberg iceberg II. Do you find it easy to switch back to the WordPress Classic editor?

What do you think of WordPress 5 and Gutenberg?

The implementation reminds me of key communication (below):

CommunicationKey

ClassicEditor

Is it harder to see how to change back to the (old) classic editor?

The easiest way at the moment is to Click on the three vertical dots (top right) and Click on the bottom item.

Now that WordPress 5 and Gutenberg officially has been around since last year, let’s start a conversation.

Do you have any reservations? Does it make you feel cozy?

Is the solution viable short-term?

Finally is it a treat that you cherish or an extravagant waste of time and effort?

I must confess personally, until I heard all the hype and proclivity towards blocks, I hoped we would see more of a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) style editor i.e. being able to edit in the ‘Preview’ mode so that theme/font styles are implemented ‘on the fly’.

What we have got is more of a computer nerd/ programmer approach which is clunky and not user-friendly.

Expect WordPress 5.0 to be released from 19 November. See:

WordPress 5.0 Development Cycle

https://aaamazingphoenix.wordpress.com/2018/10/18/wordpress-5-0-release-date-19-november-twenty-nineteen-theme/

The next WordPress 5 release date is scheduled on 19th of November 2018 (+ plus 8 days are as a backup if necessary). But this isn’t strict deadline, because developers openly count on the option that they won’t be fast enough with all bugs fixing.

So if they will expect, that it is not a good idea to release WordPress 5 by the end of November/ beginning of December, they have another target date for release – January 22, 2019. See:

What’s Upcoming in WordPress: When is the WordPress 5 release date?
